ABOUT

I am a fashion creative and motivational speaker/influencer currently based in London working in the fashion industry in image consulting, journalism and motivational speaking. I am currently an entrepreneur in residence at Goldsmiths University after completing a Masters in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship in early 2021.

At 25 years old I found myself disfigured for life after being burned badly in a fire, and for years I battled mentally and emotionally with my physical appearance and self-confidence. I hated my legs and covered them up at all costs. It was only in 2009 after a life changing experience did I change my mindset and begin the process of healing and self-acceptance.

Drawing strength and inspiration from fashion and music has allowed me to overcome personal tragedy.  I now embrace my scars and am comfortable in my own body.

In 2012, I decided to move to London to pursue my dream of working in the fashion industry.  I didn’t know how it would go or how I would achieve the goal, I just knew I had to shake up my world and start moving towards my goal. So I quit my job as a high school teacher and started to move towards my goal.

In 2014 I graduated from the London College of Fashion in Fashion Buying & Merchandising and again in 2015 from the University of Westminster in Multimedia Journalism.  I have enjoyed working for various fashion publications online such as The Glass Magazine, Shortlist Media and Beljacobs.com, where I have been lucky enough to attend and report live on various fashion catwalk shows by Chanel, Dior, Miu Miu and Jean Paul Gaultier.

I have also interviewed people in the fashion & music industry such as Yoshiyuki Miyamae for Issey Miyake , John Rocha, Mick Rock and Pat Salter for Pretty Green.

For two years I was the resident fashion expert on Sky TV’s ‘The Chrissy B Show’ where I styled current host Christoulla Boodram and explored the latest fashion trends happening in London.  Here is a short video of me explaining my accident of 2005 that led me on this journey.
